I loved this! And your are right, people will try to accommodate and good chefs love the challenge and want you to like and eat their food. I really think the list of what you can eat is a great idea, it’s a very positive way of letting your hosts know.
The almond milk desert looks really nice, and though I know I would have like the pizza’s on the ferry I know my stomach would prefer the plate that you had 🙂

Great post Denise! You sum it up so nicely.
We do try to eat what’s in season. The first small potatoes from Samsø with a little butter and a sprinkle of salt and parsley, or freshly pressed apple juice in fall. There is nothing better than sweet Danish strawberries in summer, maybe with some fresh (organic) cream poured over. Eating strawberries always reminds me of the summer where I was a strawberry picker and got up at 5 every morning to pick strawberries that were sold in the stores that same morning. I swear the sun shone every day that summer and I made some good friends those weeks.
Like you I like to go grocery shopping when I’m abroad. Check out what people in a foreign country eat, how items are packed and presented. And come home with some new favorites that remind me of my travels 🙂

This looks so tasty Denise I have to try this! I will try adding vanilla cause I that’s one of my favorite flavors. Vanilla and lemon, but I will save the lemon for something else 🙂
BTW I don’t own a cooking timer, and usually I remember to check on what’s in the oven or cooking on the stove..
